At Oubre Medical, we focus on a functional medicine approach to your healthcare. Our core concepts are: Nutrition, Movement, Hormones, Digestion, and Stress. We believe that the majority of acute and chronic disease can be reversed, or at least limited, by following these core concepts. When someone follows a healthy, active, well-balanced lifestyle, their rates of disease (diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, heart attacks) are reduced by more than 70%. This medical fact has been proven repeatedly in scientific studies over the past century. If you are struggling to maintain your health, schedule an evaluation in order to get on the right track. If you utilize these services and take control of your health, you will feel more energetic and live longer.

Randy has struggled from multiple issues that he is conquering one by one. He used to be in epic shape when he was doing body building shape with 5% body fat, but it destroyed his body. He is now regaining his health and strength one step at a time.

STOP PUTTING YOUR LIFE ON HOLD

MEET THE TEAM

Philip Oubre, MD

I grew up in south Louisiana in a small town called Prairieville, which is near Baton Rouge. I attended school at St. Amant High School (pronounced san-ah-mah in Cajun lingo).

Then, I moved to north Louisiana where I got my undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. I majored in Biochemistry with additional minors in Biology and Chemistry.

Then, I went to medical school at Ross University where I spent two years learning medicine from books in Dominica, a Caribbean island. I then spent two years in New York City completing my clinical rotations. After finishing medical school, I matched into a Family Medicine Residency in Columbia, South Carolina at the University of South Carolina.

I spent three years in the hospital system called Palmetto Health where I learned to hone my family medicine skills. I then decided to move to Austin, Texas to grow roots and begin our medical practices. Ever since 2013, I have been happy to call Austin “home,” and I hope to spend the rest of my life in Austin, Texas.
